Overview & Key Outcomes

Return-It QLD is part of Re.Group, an Australian company focused on providing high quality services for recycling and the recovery of resources from materials that society discards.

Since 2018, Elevate has partnered with Return-It QLD to launch as part of the Queensland Container Refund Scheme and build the Return-It brand profile both digitally and through PR activities to leverage traditional media. Elevate has also supported the growth of the Return-It brand in ACT as well as launching the ReCollect application in select Queensland markets.

Return-It QLD’s Communications Plan includes:

  • Development and implementation of a comprehensive Issues and Crisis Management Plan
  • Prepare and draft one main media release per month / adapted for local regions (or substitute for up to four individual local media releases per month)
  • Maintain list of key journalists and publications across print, online, TV and radio programs
  • Coordinate launch event and RSVPs
  • Distribute and follow up with key journalists and publications for each campaign
  • Manage media interviews including briefings
  • Monitor media for reactive news opportunities to pitch and manage interviews with talent 
  • Develop social media content to drive engagement with key stakeholder groups
  • Develop strategic digital advertising strategies to complement commercial growth targets

KEY OUTCOMES:

  • Achieved 147 unique media stories for the QLD launch reaching over 11,535,948 people with an estimated advertising value of almost $180,000
  • Developed 98 media releases
  • Secured over 31x TV stories for ReCollect launch in QLD
  • Provided regular media monitoring reports outlining coverage from COEX, charity partners and competitor platforms
  • Managed media requests to charity spokespeople
  • Worked with Return-It and COEX to manage and prevent potential issues or leaked information.
  • Provided ongoing issues and crisis management support
  • Created media plans, opening site guides, MP media kits, issues and crisis management plan, Salvos, closure issues management plan, EDMs, video content, blogs and other collateral
